Obituaries for the week of March 19

‘Bob’ White



Robert “Bob” White of Royse City died March 12, 2008.

He was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Franklin County, Ark., to Jack and Vesta (Massingale) White. Mr. White served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former superintendent for H.B. Zachry Company and was owner of Robert White Trucking Company. Mr. White was a member of First United Methodist Church, Royse City.

He is survived by his son, J.D. White and wife Rhonda of Royse City; daughters Cheryl McFarland of Enid, Okla. and Jody Norton and husband Steve of Meridian, Okla.; grandson: Michael Norris and wife Melissa of Royse City; other grandchildren, Billy McFarland and wife Gina of Enid, Okla., Lydia Weiher and husband Randy of Jones, Okla., Jodi Norton of Arcadia, Okla., and Daniel Dean and wife Torrie of Caldwell; and great-grandchildren Dylan, Brandon, Canon, Makahyla, Mason, Maximus, Shayde and Harley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlyn, and daughter Rhonda White Dean.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., March 15 at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel. Interment was in Royse City Cemetery.



Carl Duckworth



Carl “Happy” Gene Duckworth, 57, of Royse City died March 10, 2008.

He was born Dec. 26, 1950, in Amarillo to Glen Ray and Sammie J. (Allen) Duckworth. Carl was an auto mechanic, as well as a musician. He played the guitar and banjo, and enjoyed boxing and fishing.

Carl is survived by his mom, Sammie J. Kruse of Amarillo; a daughter, Carly Chapa and husband Alex of Royse City; son Sonny Duckworth and wife Wendy of Bedford; grandchildren Dustin, Cristin and Catherine Finney, and Madyson Duckworth; a brother, Danny Duckworth and wife Debbie of Fort Worth; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and brothers Sonny and Sammy Lee Duckworth.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., March 13, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel. Interment followed in Royse City Cemetery.

Donations may be made to American National Bank, Carl Duckworth Fund, 123 E. Interstate 30, Royse City, Texas 75189.
