Hulon Miller
TERRELL — Hulon Matthew Miller of Terrell died Aug. 16, 2008, from complications of diabetes.
Born April 10, 1929, in Hunt County, he had been a resident of Terrell for the past 29 years and was very active in the Kaufman County Genealogy and Historical organizations.
Hulon served in the U.S. Army, and while stationed in Germany he was appointed as the personal driver of Colonel Enamark. He retired from National Oilwell (U.S. Steel) in 1991. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union, Sons of the American Revolution, NRA and other distinguished organizations. Hulon enjoyed telling stories and family history, genealogy and doing crossword puzzles in his spare time. He was proud to be a Texan and was the last of a long family line of blacksmiths.
Hulon was preceded in death by his wife, Rubye Lou Hicks; parents Alta Henderson and Dalton Miller; a brother, Austin; son William; and grandson Jon Miller.
He is survived by his sister, Vivian and husband H. Clyde Hicks; a brother, Malcolm and wife Audrey; son Michael P. Miller and wife Paula; daughters Camille Lowe and husband Kelly and Dee Dee Miller; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 21, 2008, at Goggan's Funeral Home in Terrell followed by burial in the Royse City Cemetery.
