District server of the year signs with Brookhaven Lady Bears

Callie Martin, district 10-3A server of the year, signs with Brookhaven College to play volleyball. Martin is the daughter of Gaylon and Brean Martin. The Royse City graduate played on the varsity volleyball team for two years. She said she “can’t wait to start practicing.” Volleyball has always been her sport she said. As a setter for the Brookhaven Lady Bears, she will run the offense, which she did at Royse City. From left are Royse City volleyball coach Trent Tharp, Brookhaven volleyball coach Jason Hopkins, Brean Martin, with Callie Martin in the middle. Brookhaven has won two national championships in the last four years, being in the final four each time.
