Offering precautions

The Royse City Independent School District is offering precautions for students and family members on how to deal with exposure to COVID-19.

The Royse City Independent School District started September by reporting a continued surge in cases of COVID-19 among students and staff members.

The district’s third scorecard of the semester was released this week.

As of Tuesday morning, 127 students and 16 staff members were reported with COVID-19, with 2% of the district resulting in exclusion from work or school days. The students and staff were reported at each of the campuses in the district.

While not a requirement as of Tuesday, the district was encouraging students, parents, employees and visitors to wear a face mask in district facilities and/or at school-sponsored activities if they so choose.

Staff and students are being asked to report any positive COVID-19 test result for themselves or for a household family member to their assigned campus nurse.

The Royse City ISD will notify guardians/staff by email if a positive case is reported on campus. Furthermore, individuals deemed as a close contact to a positive case will receive a second notification.
