It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Royse City, with the Parade of Homes scheduled this weekend, the lighting of the Christmas Tree on Dec. 3 and with the Parade of Lights and related activities planned on Dec. 14.
• The Royse City Parade of Homes is scheduled between 2-4 p.m. Sunday and is hosted by and benefits the Zaner Robison Historical Museum. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the museum, the Royse City Hardware Store and the C.F. Goodwin Public Library.
•The Royse City Christmas Tree Lighting is scheduled starting at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Cookston Court, 111 E. Main St. The lighting itself is set for 6 p.m. and activities are scheduled at the location through 7:30 p.m.
• On Dec. 14, area residents can visit with Santa starting at 10 a.m. at Cookston Court. Live entertainment is planned along Main Street later in the evening. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and will leave from Ruth Cherry Intermediate School, then head west on Highway 66 toward downtown. Main Street parking will be barricaded at 3:30 p.m. that day.
