Country recording artists Roger Creager and Kevin Fowler will bring a little bit of a south of the border party vibe to the Hunt, Collin and Rockwall county area this Saturday, with their duo, Dos Borrachos (Two Drunks).
The duo, who will be performing music from their self-titled debut album at the Southern Junction in Royse City Saturday, were inspired by the many concerts and music festivals they’ve played together in Mexico over the years.
“It’s always fun making music with friends,” Fowler told the Royse City Herald-Banner. “We didn’t stress over it at all.
“With this thing, we wanted to make an album of fun songs to drink to. It’s just the two of us being knuckle heads on tape.
“We wrote and recorded the album in a record 30 days, which in the music industry never happens,” Fowler said. “It was just very organic.”
The concert Saturday will be a two and a half hour show, and will include music from both Fowler and Creager’s solo albums in addition to songs they’ve recorded together. Fowler’s most recent solo effort, Barstool Stories, was released earlier this year, and Creager’s most recent solo album was 2015’s Gulf Coast Time.
“We’ll have both of our bands on stage, so we’ll do our songs together and mix it with some of his and some of mine,” Fowler explained.
“We just invite people to come out and have a great time with us.”
The concert will start at 10:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.), Saturday, at the Southern Junction in Royse City, located at 5574 Texas Highway 276.
