Early voting continues for next Tuesday’s political party primary elections.

Most of the candidates in Rockwall County are listed on the Republican ballots.

Early voting is scheduled to continue daily through Friday at the Rockwall County Library, 1215 E. Yellowjacket Lane in Rockwall; Heath City Hall, 200 Laurence Drive; Royse City Hall, 305 N. Arch St.; Cullins Lake Pointe Elementary, 5701 Scenic Drive in Rowlett and the Fate City Hall, 1900 CD Boren Parkway.

Early voting hours are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at each location.

Election day voting hours will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. A list of polling locations is available in today’s edition of the paper.

U.S. Representative for District 4 John Ratcliffe of Fate filed for the Republican Party nomination in seeking re-election to the position. Russell Foster, an IT specialist from Sherman, filed for the Democratic Party nomination for the office.

Incumbent representative for Texas House District 33 Justin Holland of Rockwall filed for the GOP nomination in seeking re-election and will face Andy Rose, a project management professional from Farmersville, who filed for the Democratic Party nomination for the post.

Only one candidate is seeking the office of Rockwall County sheriff. Terry Garrett filed for the Republican Party nomination in the race and was the only candidate to have done so. Barring any third party or write-in candidates, Garrett would automatically be elected in November and would succeed current Sheriff Harold Eavenson on Jan. 1.

Incumbent County Commissioner for Precinct 1 Clifford J. Sevier Sr. filed for re-election to the post and is being opposed by Dwight Lee Walker.

Republican incumbent County Commissioner for Precinct 3 Cecil Dennis Bailey is facing insurance executive Jennie Barker for the GOP nomination. Merceda Winder with Forty Paws Pet Sitter filed for the Democratic Party nomination for the office.

Incumbent Republican County Court At Law No. 1 Judge J. Brian Williams filed for re-election and is running unopposed.

Five candidates, all Republican, filed for their party’s nomination for the newly created County Court At Law No. 2. John Browning, Tiffany Miller, Jeff Shell, Craig Stoddart and Stephanie Woodward are all vying for the post.

Incumbent County Tax Assessor-Collector Kim Sweet filed for the Republican Party nomination for the office. Amber Crimmings filed for the Democratic Party nomination for the post.

Incumbent County Constable for Precinct 1 John Benedetto, incumbent County Constable for Precinct 2 Trey Cheney and incumbent Constable for Precinct 4 Randy Earl Parks have each filed for re-election, and are unopposed in seeking the GOP nominations.

Brandon D. Cozby and Dan Otto filed seeking the Republican Party nomination for the vacant County Constable Precinct 3 post.

Incumbent Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 Mark Russo is unopposed in seeking the Republican Party nomination for re-election. Tim Wells filed for the Democratic Party nomination for the office.

Incumbent Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4 Liana Bell Whitten filed for the Republican Party nomination in seeking re-election.
