The Rev. Tim Marks became lead pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Royse City, effective Monday.
He follows the Rev. Ann Willet, who had been pastor of the Royse City church since December 2008. .
There will be a brunch between worship services at 9:45 a,m. Sunday to welcome the new pastor and his wife, Becky.
Prior to joining the Royse City church, he served as pastor of the Arbala-Gafford Chapel Charge near Sulphur Springs.
He is a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served as an aircraft electronics technician, a technical training instructor and as a course manager for the Air Force Institute for Advanced Distributed Learning.
He has earned degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, Midwestern State University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
In 2012, he was awarded the Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.
The Marks’ are the parents of three children – Kaycee and her husband, Michael Israel, live Las Vegas, Nev.; Jake, a student at Midwestern State University, lives in Wichita Falls; and Andrew, a Marine reservist who lives in Sulphur Springs.
