A patrolman with the Rockwall Police Department found himself on the wrong side of the law after a New Year’s Day incident landed him in jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Alphonso Luis Olivo Jr., 30, — a Royse City resident — was arrested by the Royse City Police Department on Jan. 1 and released later that night after posting a $50,000 bond.
No details on the incident have been reported and multiple calls to the RCPD have not been returned, but RPD Public Information Officer Aaron McGrew confirmed Monday that Olivo is on administrative leave.
“We were made aware of that arrest,” McGrew said. “He was placed on administrative leave upon posting bail and we are generating our own internal investigation.”
