Two men from North Texas are being held in custody in Hunt County after being charged with organized theft in Royse City.
Nathan Budahelyi-Coker, 29, of Cumby and Michael Darland, 24, of Greenville, were arrested by officers with the Royse City Police Department April 7, each on one count of organized retail theft in the amount of $750 or more but less than $2,500 on warrants issued from the Royse City Municipal Court. Budahelyi-Coker was also taken into custody on a parole violation warrant from the United States Marshal’s Service.
Both men remained in custody Monday in the Hunt County Detention Center, Darland in lieu of $4,000, with no bond listed for Budahelyi-Coker.
Both men filed writs from the jail, seeking the appointment of defense attorneys to represent them on the charges, and each had defense counsels appointed April 9.
Hunt County Court At Law No 1 Judge Timothy Linden also set hearings for May 8 to review each suspect’s bonds.
