Britton, White elected to Rockwall ISD school board

In the race for seats on the Rockwall ISD school board, Stan Britton defeated Steve Harvey in the Place 4 race by a margin of 2,872-1,812, or 61.32%-38.68%.

In Place 5, Jim White took 64.09% of the vote to Nikki Harris’s 35.9%, or 2,888-1,615.

Crowley sails past Buck in Royse City

In Royse City, Tom Crowley handily defeated Max Buck in the race for the Place 6 seat on the city council.

McClendon-Chisholm voters want rollback

Voters in McLendon-Chisholm voted overwhelmingly to roll back municipal taxes. The pro rollback side carried 91.71% of the vote. The final tally was 332 for to 30 against.

Voters approved the following proposition: Reduce the Adopted Tax Rate of $.185/$100 for the current year to the rollback rate of $.13344/$100.
