Royse City’s soccer squads each hit the pitch for two non-district matches last week, but while the Lady Bulldogs were celebrating a pair of close wins, the Bulldogs find themselves searching for answers following a pair of road losses.

The Lady Bulldogs used a Cierra Richardson goal to top Crandall, 1-0 at Royse City ISD Stadium on Jan. 14. On Friday, Kristyn Daniels and Hannah Webb each found the back of the net with goals to lift the girls to a 2-1 win at home over Sulphur Springs.

The Lady Bulldogs will hit the road for their next matches, Tuesday night in Lindale and Friday at Paris. Junior varsity matches are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with varsity to follow at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Royse City boys were blanked 1-0 at Princeton on Jan. 14, then suffered a 4-2 loss at Greenville on Friday. The Bulldogs trailed 3-0 before Blaine Hickman knocked in a penalty kick with less than eight minutes to play. Hickman scored both goals for Royse City.

The Bulldogs hosted North Forney on Tuesday night and will travel to Sulphur Springs for more non-district action. The JV match is slated for 5:30 p.m. and the varsity is due to begin at approximately 7:15 p.m.
