COMMERCE — Royse City sophomore Kellie Wyrick recorded her second career double-double as she scored 18 points and pulled in 15 rebounds in the Lady Bulldogs, 54-32, win over Commerce last week.

And she also blocked five shots and had a steal in the game.

“Kellie had a monster game,” said Royse City coach Teri Morrison via e-mail.

The Lady Bulldogs virtually shut down the Commerce in the first half allowing the Lady Tigers only 10 points while pouring in 23 of their own.

The domination continued into the second half with Royse City scoring 31 points for Commerce’s 22. The Lady Bulldogs also out-rebounded their opponent pulling in 34 rebounds to the Lady Tigers’ 17.

Additionally, Daisy Sanchez and Jill Owen scored double figures for the Lady Bulldogs with Sanchez netting 12 and Owen, 10. Owen recorded six rebounds, two blocks and two steals as well.

Carmisha Harper led the Lady Bulldogs on steals with five and scored the team’s only three-pointer in the game. Sam Mullen led Royse City on assists with four.

Yakira Essix scored 10 points to lead the Lady Tigers.
